Here's what you should know: This is excellent in-depth reporting and my hope is that more will surface. Don't miss this article, but also be sure you read the comments section. Dahn employees, including Ilchi Lee's personal assistant, are posting comments under the names of trueform1, WannaBeHealthy, gonecycling, and lorjam. This is a great opportunity for you to witness the Dahn spin campaign at work. Click here to read the article and comments.

[ Dahn proclaims Brain Education Day triumph in Mountain View, California. But hey, did you know your own mother could have a day named after her? All it takes is filling out a form! ]
Here's what you should know: The Mountain View Mayor (Margaret Abe-Koga) has issued this comment regarding Brain Education Day: "The City and I, as Mayor, receive numerous requests for certificates of recognition every week. They range from recognitions of awards received by individuals and organizations, special celebrations and even 80th birthdays. We do our best to honor the requests as well as research the organizations and individuals making the requests, but we may not always learn complete backgrounds of the requestors. Such was the case in this situation."

[ Did you know Dahn employees have stolen newspapers so that you won't see all the negative press they're getting? ]
Here's what you should know: If you've been keeping up with the postings here, you will know that Dahn World has been caught stealing massive amounts of a Korean community newspaper in Phoenix, Arizona that ran a story on the class-action lawsuit and the sexual predator allegations against Ilchi Lee. For more information on this, read below.

Now, you will be amazed to hear that the theft wasn't confined to Arizona! A weekly Korean newspaper in Los Angeles, the Sunday Journal, featured a 2-part special series on the cult allegations against Dahn and Ilchi Lee. Again, Dahn employees hit the streets to confiscate as many copies of this paper as they could find. In addition, Dahn is threatening to sue this newspaper. They claim that Ilchi Lee is only a consultant and does not have any direct affiliation with the Dahn organization. Of course, we know this is untrue. Any practicing member of Dahn knows that Lee controls everything - his face and presence are everywhere. Some would say that Dahn's strategy of pretending to distance Lee from the organization is a smart business decision. We would call this pure cowardice.

[ Dahn employees implicated in massive newspaper theft in Arizona! ]
Here's what you should know: There's a free newspaper for the Korean community in Phoenix (the Arizona Times), and they ran a story on the class-action lawsuit filed against Ilchi Lee by 27 former masters. The paper was distributed on June 11, 2009, and within one hour, Dahn employees hit the streets. Sources tell us they had been given orders to do a sweep of the city and confiscate all issues of this paper. Why? Because they don't want you to see it! Luckily, the Korean community protested (loudly!) to Dahn, and Dahn's representative finally promised to return these newspapers. Did this happen, you ask? Heck no! The next day, only a minimal number of papers were returned, and Dahn denied responsibility. They claimed the theft was not initiated by them. Do you buy this? Well, the local media sure didn't! Channel 15 ABC news got involved, and the publisher of the Arizona Times vows he will take Dahn to court. Click here to read the original Arizona Times article [note it's in Korean].

[ Update on newspaper theft in Arizona: Dahn employee defiant, says, "No one can stop us from what we are doing!" ]
Here's what you should know: The Arizona Times has reported that one female Dahn employee was caught red-handed by a store owner stealing his store's copies of this newspaper [Chris, can you confirm here the gender of the store owner?]. Her response? "No one can stop us from what we are doing!" If you can read Korean, please click here for the full article.

Dahn officials have apologized to the Arizona Sun Times for stealing newspapers from distribution centers in an effort to hide from the public the latest negative press on Ilchi Lee and Dahn world. It's no wonder Dahn would resort to larceny: the article in the Arizona Sun Times includes coverage of the sexual predator allegations against Ilchi Lee. No doubt they don't want the public to read about this. Dahn will pay back advertisement fees to those businesses who advertised in the paper that week. Dahn also promised not to interfere with fair reporting, and in exchange, the Sun Times will withdraw criminal charges against Dahn.

[ An absolute must-read for anyone considering investing in their own BBC (Body and Brain Center)! ]
Is the master at your center pushing you to open your own BBC? Here's what you should know: In Illinois, the law states that any franchised business cannot collect fees from prospective franchisees until they have a definite location for the franchise. We have not yet researched the law in other states, but we imagine there are many with the same law. That means Dahn cannot legally asked you to invest in a BBC until you have an established location ready. That $30,000, $50,000 or $90,000 they took from you as an "investment" into the franchise was likely done illegally, because you do not yet have your business location. Get your money back!

Getting their money back is exactly what healers in Chicago tried to do. They were upset after viewing the CBS report on Dahn which aired on 6/17/09, and they wanted refunds on their "investments" into BBCs. This is when they discovered that Dahn had violated Illinois law by taking the money from them in the first place. As a result, Dahn was forced to refund all BBC franchise fees in the Chicago area.

[ Ever heard of Dahn's religious stepsister, Sun Bul Kyo? ]
Here's what you should know: Ilchi Lee's most profitable operation is his religious branch in Korea, called "Sun Bul Kyo." Sun Bul Kyo's leader is named "Man-Wol" (a woman). Sun Bul Kyo's financial success prompted Ilchi Lee to give his own title of "Dae-Sun-Sa" (which means Grand Master) to Man-Wol. This honor being bestowed on Man-Wol is a big hint that Ilchi Lee is retooling Dahn into a straight-up religious organization. Any good businessman has to think strategically, and think long-term, and Lee can't be unaware that Dahn Yoga's days are probably numbered. He has to think down the road, and by morphing Dahn into a religion, he gains all the protections that religious groups are granted by law. If you haven't heard of Sun Bul Kyo, it's new pseudo religion created by Lee that appears to be a hodge-podge of Christianisty, Buddhism, Confucianism, with a generous dash of Korean Dahn-Gun.

[ Wondering why WHO has a new CEO? ]
WHO stands for World HongIk Organization. HongIk means winder or greater benefit. Since Dahn Yoga started to get bad publicity, they are now calling themselves WHO. Sources tell us that the head of United States WHO operations was fired by Ilchi Lee after the franchise refund crisis in Chicago, and a former Korean CEO named Jung Ji (Cha, Dong Hoon) was flown in to take over. Speculation is that he is in the U.S. to handle DW and Ilchi crisis. Ilchi Lee has given Jung Ji a big honor in Dahn World - he's now got the presitgious title of "Sun sa," of which there are only a handful in the entire organization.

[ Newsflash! Ilchi Lee's Dahn Yoga practice has absolutely no connection to the original Korean tradition of Dahn. ]
Here's what you should know: You have been lied to. Ilchi Lee's Dahn Yoga is not five thousand years old and is not part of any ancient, respected Korean spiritual tradition. In fact, Korea did not even exist five thousand years ago. The master at your center spouts this information as though it were engraved on the Rosetta Stone, but they have been lied to, as well. Even if you love Dahn Yoga, you can at least acknowledge that all that body tapping and head shaking is not yoga. Older practitioners of Dahn Yoga, who began practicing in the 1990's when it was called Dahn Hak, will tell you that these practices did not exist back then. There was no dahn jon tapping, no brain wave vibration. These are recent inventions.

There is, in fact, a Korean spiritual tradition called Dahn, but it bears little resemble to Dahn Yoga. You should know that the "meditation" practiced in Dahn Yoga centers will not hold water in a serious meditation tradition, nor will Ilchi Lee's imitation versions of tai chi and marital arts. The black belt you have earned in Dahn Mu Do will never be acknowledged by any serious martial artist, nor will your status as a graduate of healer school ever enable you to actually heal anyone. Yet you have been led to believe by Dahn Yoga, Inc. that your training makes you the best secret in human history, and that taking out huge loans to pay for it is worth every penny. Look around you at your center - why are there almost no old-timers, no people who have been around and practicing Dahn Yoga for ages? Why is almost everyone a newbie, like you? If all of this training they offer represents real growth, where is the proof? Where are the long-time practitioners who can provide you with living, breathing evidence that the training is as wonderful as Dahn claims it is? Such people should be all over the place, and yet, there are none.

[ Here are some 100% verifiable, proveable facts that you should be aware of: ]

  • Ilchi Lee is a convicted criminal. In 1993, Ilchi was sentenced to 2 and half years in prison and a large fine for the following crimes:
    (A) VIolation of Act on Special Measures for the Control of Public Health Crimes.
    (B) Violation of Food Sanitation Act.
    (C) Violation of Pharmaceutical Affairs Act.
    (D) Violation of Act on Special Measures fo the Registration of Real Estate.
    (E) Violation of Education Act.
  • If asked, Dahn Yoga has a rehearsed "explanation" for Lee's prison sentence. Don't buy it. In fact, Lee's crimes were a big deal in Korea and received a lot of media attention. It was after his release from prison that he migrated to the United States.
  • Ilchi Lee Proclamation days - Dahn masters are instructed to trumpet "Ilchi Lee Day" to members at their centers. In truth, there is no honor in this. Anyone can apply for this and cities give them out liberally. You can get such an "honor" for your own grandmother's 80th birthday.
  • Ilchi Lee is not a real doctor - neither M.D. nor Ph.D. He has two honorary doctorate degrees from Yuin University and South Baylo University. These are known diploma mills. If you don't really understand what a diploma mill is, this is it: a diploma mill is (from Wikipedia) "an organization that awards academic degrees and diplomas with substandard or no academic study and without recognition by official educational accrediting bodies. The purchaser can then claim to hold an academic degree, and the organization is motivated by making a profit. These degrees are often awarded based on vaguely construed life experience." If this doesn't seem offensive enough to you, think about it this way: how would you feel if your friend Jeff Black suddenly began referring to himself as Dr. Jeff Black, simply because he had purchased a degree from a diploma mill that was awarded to him based on his "life experience"? You would think this was ridiculous, right? And what if your friend Jeff began writing books using the name "Dr. Jeff Black," not mentioning to his readers where he got his "doctor" title? You would think this was not just ridiculous, but bordering on fraud, right? For your reference, here is a link to a list of known diploma mill scams compiled by a Consumer Fraud Reporting site (Yuin University is on this list): Click here >>
  • At one time, Dahn World was trumpeting Brain Respiration from every street corner. It was eventually replaced by HSP, which has now been pushed aside by Brain Wave Vibration, which in turn will be replaced by something else in a couple of years. In the Nov. 15, 1999 edition of the Boston Phoenix, they wrote a story about Dahn that included this statement: "Toward the end of the session, Master Lee cites the phenomenal success of Brain Respiration in Korea, where students have learned to read books without opening them." Ten years later, we know this is a complete lie. Students in Korea are not reading books with their eyes closed. Brain Respiration did not enjoy "phenomenal success" anywhere. If it was so successful, what happened to it? Why did Lee let it fade out? Why is Dahn World focusing its energy on something completely different now? Think about it. Really think. What is especially sad is that, even in 2009, there are still a few people who believe BR and HSP can train them to be clairvoyants.
  • If you have spent any time in Dahn World, you will have heard of the Korea Institute of Brian Science (another organization created by Ilchi Lee). Dahn likes to proclaim that it holds "Consultative Status with the United Nations." In truth, the Korea Institute of Brian Science is in roster Consultative Status [Chris, could you give more of an explanation here what it means to be in roster status as opposed to consultative status?]. We predict that even this status will be taken away once the United Nations takes time to actually look into Ilchi Lee's background and credentials.
  • There is a smokescreen of deception surrounding the practice of Dahn Mu Do. Let us blow away the smoke for you, so that you can see it for what it is. Don't be fooled. You have been told that this is a traditional Korean martial arts practice, but anyone with any knowledge of either Korean history or martial arts can tell you that these claims are absolutely untrue. This practice is neither traditional, nor is it martial arts. It is an energy dance, and that is all. The marketing surrounding this practice has crossed the line into outright deception. Stand alongside a true martial artist while they watch a Dahn Mu Do demonstration, and hear what they have to say. Did you know, for example, that tai chi demonstrations are often used in place of Dahn Mu Do demonstrations, and that it's all such a nonsensical hodge-podge of moves, that no one participating seems to know the difference?

[ Food for Thoughts ]
Like all the masters would say when they are pinned to face the truth, the bottom line is Ilchi is a great businessman. But no great businessman rips people off selling mumbo-jumbo pseudo sprirutuality based on "ancient Korean tradition". Before you buy or sell this BS, think about what part of Sim Sung is ancient, HSP and Brain respiration is traditional, and Dahn Mu Do is based on Sin Sun Do? Yoga and Tai Chi? Meditation? Healing? Think of your fellow mentally ill Do Wu Nims following advice of pseudo Healers and Masters, got off their medicine and went through episodes of break down. Ask yourself whether $9,500 healer training trains you to heal or fooling yourself.

Ilchi claims 100 million members by 2010 will be the tipping point for earth human enlightenment. Think of what kind of enlightened world that will be.

  • Does that mean the masters do not have to live the life of control and manipulation?
  • Everyone will drive around one of the most expensive car in the world Maybach like Ilchi?
  • Do not have to pay up to $200,000 for enlightenment?
  • Perpetually listening to Ilchi's angry Gang-Chun?
  • Turn your eyes the other way when your fellow female masters revolve around his room?
  • Ilchi will take everyone to Chun-Bu-Sung, the enlightened star? (this almost sounds like Heaven's Gate)
  • Maybe free ancester liberation instead of $10,000 per ancester?

[ Coincidences ]
This is funny one. This is how they "TRY" to manipulate public opinions. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kYyeijZKA8
There are 1667 comments on this wildly popular Brain Respiration media coverage. Almost all commentors registered on the same date - December 27, 2008. Nice going Dahn World. Who were you trying to fool? Check out all DW and Ilchi related postings on Youtube. You will find identical trends.

[ Has anyone reading this site been around long enough to remember Dahn's $5000 golden turtles? ]
At one time, Dahn members were pushed relentlessly by their instructors to pay thousands of dollars for their very own golden turtle necklaces. Supposedly, the turtles had been blessed by Grand Master Lee himself, and contained very powerful healing properties from the tenth dimension. The astronomical price was because they were pure gold. We still remember members proudly displaying their turtle necklaces, which they were instructed to wear at all times. Get ready to be outraged! A chemical analysis by the Korea Testing & Research Insititute exposes the golden turtle for what it is - not 100% gold, but a 100% fraud. Click here to view the analysis report.

[ Did you know that Dahn uses computer hacking to silence its victims? ]
Here's what you should know: Ever heard of www.newdahn.com? They are a pretty well-known cult information site that posts regular updates on Ilchi Lee and Dahn. They are a Korean site, but they have a page specifically for English speakers: newdahn.com/usa. They have thousands of readers and have many accounts from victims of Dahn and Lee. They keep up with all the latest media coverage against Dahn, and post links to videos, articles, etc. You may have noticed that the site is frequently down. Want to know why? Site administrators tell us that they are regularly hacked into by Dahn, causing them to go down. This is why they experience such frequent service interruptions. This represents a denial for us (the public) of access to rightful information and is a blatant attempt on Dahn's part to silence its victims.
